Our Efforts Towards Carbon Neutrality
We have installed carbon-neutral city gas*, CO2-free electricity*, and solar power generation systems* to reduce CO2 emissions, which contribute to global warming.
*We have installed these systems in some of our hotels and will gradually introduce them in the rest.
Initiatives on reduction of
plastic waste
Amenities such as toothbrushes, razors, and hairbrushes are not installed in guest rooms, but in common areas. We encourage guests to use them for their needs during the stay and are working to reduce plastic waste.
Initiatives on cleaning rooms for consecutive-night stay
Cleaning during the stay will be carried out only for guests who request it. We are working to reduce the frequency of linen and waste collection to reduce mass disposal, mass consumption and carbon footprint.
Introduction of water purification system throughout the hotel
All water related to living, such as drinking water and water for showering, bathing, brushing teeth and washing face, use purified water.
By introducing a water purification system throughout the building, we strive to reduce the use of plastic bottles when providing mineral water, which will lead to a reduction in plastic waste.

Measures for natural disasters
We strive to build a system that will ensure the stability of our business in times of disaster by regularly conducting drills on the assumption of a large-scale earthquake. The drills incorporate scenarios for establishing an emergency response headquarters. In addition, we conduct regular fire drills at all our facilities with our self-defense brigade in preparation for emergencies such as fires and earthquakes, as well as take measures in case of evacuation, such as controlling stockpiles.
Initiatives on training and education
We conduct in-house training on specific topics, such as labor issues and harassment. We create opportunities for employees to achieve sustainable growth by utilizing open recruitment when opening new hotels, a system for challenging high-ranking employees, and a training program that incorporates cross-departmental training. We are also putting effort into providing support for obtaining qualifications and aiming to promote rewarding employment.
Initiatives for regional revitalization
We are expanding our hotels specializing in lodging both domestically and overseas, and are promoting the enhancement of convenience for business and leisure. When opening a hotel, we actively work with local companies to revitalize local economies and communities.
About SDGs
SDGs stands for the "Sustainable Development Goals" that were adopted at the UN Summit in 2015.
It is a set of international goals consisting of 17 goals for social issues in all countries and 169 targets that have been set for each goal.
In order to build a sustainable society by 2030 through the achievement of these goals and targets, every country, regardless if it is a developed or developing country, is required to take initiatives. In Japan, initiatives are also being advanced by public institutions, companies, and other entities.
